What better way to inaugurate the blog than with a limited-edition deal --nay, steal-- from the lovely folks at Glossybox?

If you're not familiar with the brand, La Prairie is a renowned (and expensive) Swiss skincare brand, famous for developing products that count caviar and platinum among their ingredients. We're in luxury spa and Nordstrom territory here, ladies and gents. So the price of this box, a cool $40 pending any discounts Glossybox may or may not roll out in the future, turns out to be a total bargain.
From the purchase page, which you see above, you get three product spoilers: a Foam Cleanser, a Cellular Refining Lotion, and an Essence of Skin Caviar (!) Eye Complex. I have to admit, I'm totally, frivolously looking forward to slathering some caviar-y cream on my face -- talk about decadence! Anyway, a cursory Google search just revealed that a mere 0.5 oz of the Caviar Eye Complex goes for $135 at retail. $135! I think it's safe to assume the total retail value of this box, then, is at the very least in the $250 - $300 range.
The two mystery items, which so far are only outlined on the purchase page, are set to be revealed on January 27, so we'll have to wait another week to find out the entire contents of the box. I've read online, though, that La Prairie is launching two brand-new products this month: a dry oil, which is a strange concept to wrap your brain around, but sounds deliciously intriguing; and a Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream. Apparently they are both facial moisturizers, and they are priced at $300 a pop. I wonder if these will be the last two products rounding out the box. I can only hope!
I don't know about you, but I'm totally starry-eyed over this little Swiss package: the products are top-notch, the brand is well-respected, it's a stunning value, and we have an ultra-limited window of opportunity to grab it. In other words, it features all the ingredients of the perfect sub box. I might have to break down and get it. And now that I think of it, it would make an amazing present for my mom, whose birthday is coming up in a little over a month...
What do you guys think? Is the La Prairie box a good value? Are you planning on getting it?
